Check out recent videos featuring the Tank Lab's research!
Dr. Tank was the recipient of the 2016 Rodney F. Ganey, Ph.D., Faculty Community-Based Research Award, given annually by the Notre Dame Center for Social Concerns.
The Indiana Watershed Initiative, a collaborative effort between Notre Dame and Indiana University, was featured in an IN NRCS video on the importance of partnerships for successful conservation. The video features PI's Dr. Jen Tank and Dr. Todd Royer, graduate student Shannon Speir, and Chad Schotter of the Kosciusko County SWCD.
Graduate student, Shannon Speir, takes you through bimonthly monitoring routine at Shatto Ditch, where the Tank Lab is exploring the impact of conservation on water quality in agricultural watersheds.
Current graduate student, Anna Vincent, created a video showing her summer 2020 study at ND-LEEF where she documented the role of light and substrate as controls on nitrification.
Current graduate student, Ellie Snyder, documented her summer 2020 study at ND-LEEF showing the role of biofilm and substrate on eDNA removal from headwater-like streams.
Former graduate students, Shannon Speir, and former graduate student, Matt Trentman, created a short video about their summer 2018 research at ND-LEEF. In this study, they sought to partition the contributions of autotrophs (e.g., algae) versus heterotrophs (e.g., bacteria) to nutrient uptake in streams of varied substrate.
