As a part of our translational ecology approach, the Tank Lab participates in a variety of outreach events.
Science sunday
Every October
- "Science Sunday" was a community outreach event held at ND-LEEF, which is located in St. Patrick's County Park (South Bend, IN).
- The Tank Lab used demonstrations to describe current research projects and actively engage community members in the science at ND-LEEF, including bug picking and streamflow measurement demonstrations.

GIRLS ambitious about learning science (GALS)
Every Spring
- At St. Patrick's County Park, over 30 young women gathered to participate in the Science for Ambitious Girls event.
- Dr. Jennifer Tank and her graduate students teach the young women how to measure stream flow and identify macroinvertebrates at ND-LEEF.
